Water-based Cleaners

 

Formulation, Design, and Function of Water-based Cleaners / Degreasers

To achieve maximum cleaning action, recyclability, and longer bath life, the following points are taken into consideration during the product design and development:

  1. All water-based formulas conform with 1550AJD6-17487 and CSD-1.

  2. These formulations are non-emulsifying and will not tie the oil and grease permanently with or in the cleaner. When the mechanical agitation stops, the formula reverses the holding mechanism and grease and oil are quickly rejected and coalesce to the surface.

  3. The high performance and fast cleaning action has been accomplished by controlling the balance between all components which creates a fast-action cleaner / degreaser that is readily capable of rejecting the oil and grease that floats to the surface of the cleaner and can be skimmed manually or mechanically.

  4. The organic portion, which is mainly responsible for removing the oil and grease, remains constant with minimum loss, subsequently extending the life of the solution.

  5. Selection of specific, high-performance ingredients influence and contribute to the final cleanability and recyclability of the cleaner. This can be observed and quantified in areas such as:

    • REDEPOSITION: The cleaner encapsulates the soil and keeps it in suspension in the solution, preventing them from redepositing it on the parts.

    • RUST INHIBITING: This is achieved simultaneously by two different technologies. Specific cleaner ingredients will create a static condition on the surface of the part, attracting another component to form a monomolecular film which will not interfere with any secondary operations.

    • LOW SURFACE TENSION: These measurable functions help the cleaner to wet, penetrate, and lift oil and grease with high efficiency and fast action.

    • HARD WATER PERFORMANCE: These formulations have a minimum sensitivity to calcium, magnesium, and ferritic ions common in hard water. Precipitation and deposition are minimized and rinsing is improved.

    • DIRT LOAD FACTOR: Soil load capacity is excellent and significantly exceeds many traditional products in the marketplace.

    • HYDROLYSIS: Normal operating conditions for extended periods of time have no diverse effect on the formula or its function. There will be no hydrolysis, polymerization, separation, or radical change in pH.

    • FOAMING: All formulations have minimal or no foaming characteristics, and are suitable or adaptable to all types of cleaning systems.
